You can find an interactive photo station with tips to keep kids safe online at Grandstand Avenue. Staff will also be available to teach people about consumer fraud. A second tent will be at the senior citizens center, focusing on scams targeting the elderly…

To ensure safe driving, police took a close eye to the roads this holiday to prevent impaired driving and to enforce seat belt safety.

Jacksonville police say no driving arrests were made this July 4th. However, they issued seven seatbelt citations…. three no insurance tickets… one equipment violation… one failure to yield… and one disobeyed stop sign citation.

The Illinois State Fair is extending its box office hours and offering discounts.

These efforts are to make the fair more affordable for fairgoers. Box office hours will extend this Thursday and next Saturday. Buying tickets at the fairgrounds will help avoid extra online fees. You can also buy mega passes for 80 dollars until August 1st.
